Driemanskap have been working around the clock on their debut album, Igqabhukil’ Inyongo. I can say without any hype, it’s going to take SA by storm - there hasn’t been anything this powerful since POC.
We know you’re hungry for the album to drop but hold tight fam - soon come! In the mean time, Ma-B and El Nino blessed a killer Hipe production yesterday. Check out eKapa Silapha (Cape Town, We’re here)…
Check out the brand new video for Snakes and Fakes by Driemanskap. The beat is by El Nino who will be handling quite a bit of the production on their forthcoming album, Igqabhukil’ Inyongo. Expect the album in stores in May this year.
Rattex is kicking off 2009 with a brand new banger called, Ndiselapha. For those of you who don’t speak isiXhosa that means, ‘I’m still here’. More FIRE!! Check it out…
KONFAB is one of the most gifted lyricists on the planet - yeah, I said it. He’s been hard at work crafting his debut solo album that’s going to follow, B. Sharpa, as one of the most innovative and important releases in the history of African hip hop.
As you can probably tell, I’m particularly excited about KONFAB’s album and impatient to unleash it. To help with my impatience I decided to remix It Rocks from Drudge Dialect.
The remix is completely different from the original - it’s a dubbed-out and warped electronic hip hop hybid with heavy dancehall subs. However, the message remains the same - KONFAB shouts out the artists who make, “the proper Hip Hop product to cop”, and trust me, it rocks!…
Check out this brand new Bruinstormaz remix of 50 Cent’s current hit Get Up.
Bruinstormaz is Cream and Bitter - you’re going to be hearing a lot more from this duo from Kuila (Kuilsrivier), Cape Flats, in the near future so keep it locked…
Our friends at Jarring Effects have just released the 3rd installment of their highly successful JFX Bits series. The two previous compilations were both downloaded over 60,000 times each so you know they’re hot!
Ben Sharpa’s slamming Sibot-produced B to the E is featured on the compilation that also includes tracks by Ghislain Poirier, Oddatee and Tony Oheix.
JFX Bits #3 is totally FREE, but if you feel like supporting the label and the artists featured on the compilation, you can make a donation on the download page. The compilation is available in MP3 format as either 320kbs (170MB) or 128kbs (80MB).
Just a little something to spice up your Friday. Ben recorded this track with Kingpinn back in 2002, shortly before his untimely death. The original version was never officially released although it did appear on the bootleg of B. Sharpa that circulated in 2007.
This remix uses elements from the original track, but I’ve added synths, some extra drums and bass. Check it out…
Not only is Rattex the Mixtape King of South Africa, he’s also the hardest working man in SA Hip Hop, putting in work every day to bring the people what they want!
Check out Rah’s remix of Akon’sSmack That. The track originally featured Eminem but this time it’s all Rah.
Another day, another FREE download! Check out your boy Rah on a remix of This is Why I’m Hot by Mims. The remix also features the vocals of reggae legend Junior ‘One Blood’ Reid.
Today we’ve got something for the ladies - don’t front, we know you love Chris Brown! Check out the spaza remix with your boy Rah! If you’re a dude, download it for your girl!…
We’ve got another Spaza banger for you to download for FREE!.
Check out this brand new remix of Cape Town (iKapa) featuring Ma-B and El Nino from Driemanskap. The original track is on Rattex’s newly released 7784 Mixtape.
It’s that time once again! Another FREE banger from Rah-Rah aka Ratteezy aka Rattex!
In this track Rattex raises the serious issue of women abuse. In 1998 there were around 50,000 cases of rape reported to the police in South Africa. The actual number of rapes was much higher as many are not reported.
The track is a remix of Sizzla’sHaffi Get It (Nah Rape) on the Inspector Riddim. Rah’s message is that women are our mothers, sisters and daughters - real men don’t rape women. Seeeeeen!
This is the official Rattex remix of I’m So Hood by DJ Khaled from We the Best. The original track featured T-Pain, Trick Daddy, Rick Ross and Plies. Other remixes of this track have featured Young Jeezy, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Big Boi, Lil Wayne, Fat Joe and Birdman.
We’re going to be uploading a whole lot of FREE MP3s from our archives over the following weeks so keep it locked and tell your friends!!
We’re kicking off with a classic joint from the one and only Artikulate KONFAB. This track is off the Drudge Dialect Vol. 1 Mixtape and it’s called It Rocks…
Rattex was in the studio yesterday recording tracks for his forthcoming album Bread and Butter. While we were busy we thought we’d bless you with some FREEMP3 love, so check out Me No Play - Fresh Spaza goodness, straight out the lab!
